Topiramate and Autism

Topiramate is a type of anticonvulsant and mood stabilser medication sold under a number of brand names including Topamax.

It is designed to prevent or reduce the severity of seizures. It is also used as a mood stabiliser and to prevent migraine attacks.

Some people believe that it can also be used to reduce some of the core symptoms of autism, such as social and communication difficulties and repetitive, compulsive behaviour.
