Escitalopram and Autism

Escitalopram is a type of SSRI antidepressant sold under a variety of brand names including Cipralex and Lexapro.

It is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder.

Escitalopram is sometimes used to treat people on the autism spectrum who have mental health problems.

It may also be used to treat people on the autism spectrum who have other problems, such as repetitive behaviours or social deficits.
