The fact that an intervention is listed in this glossary does not necessarily mean that we agree with its use. Nor does it necessarily mean that there is any scientifically valid or reliable evidence behind it.
Over time we hope to evaluate each of the interventions listed in this glossary, providing a ranking which tells you the level of scientific evidence which supports or does not support its use. Also known as Asperger’s disorder, Asperger’s symdrome or just Asperger’s.
Form of autism characterized by normal or above average IQ but impairments in social interactions, social communication and imagination.
Unlike people with other forms of autism, people with Asperger syndrome have average or above average intelligence and adequate language skills in the areas of vocabulary and grammar. Even so people with Asperger syndrome may have difficulty understanding the subtleties used in conversation, such as irony and humor.
