Catatonia and Autism

Description

Catatonia is a disorder which affects some people with autism.

It can affect how someone

For example it can make someone

It can be very distressing for the person with autism because it can make their other problems worse.

We have yet to identify the most effective interventions to treat catatonia in people with autistic spectrum disorders.

It is possible that environmental, cognitive and behavioural methods may prove to be the most effective.
