Effects
Some people claim that GI problems may cause and/or be related to other problems including:
- malnutrition and failure to thrive
- skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis
- allergic symptoms, such as headaches, sore throats and muscle pains
- mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression
We know that mental health problems are common in people with autism but we have yet to identify if that is the case with the other problems. We have also yet to establish if there is a causal link between these problems and GI problems.
