Introduction

Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, atomoxetine Atomoxetine is in a class of medications called selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors.

It is sold under a variety of brand names including Strattera®.

Atomoxetine is used as part of a total treatment programme to increase the ability to pay attention and decrease impulsiveness and hyperactivity in children and adults with ADHD.

Opinion

We are currently reviewing the research evidence on the use of atomoxetine for people with autism.
