If you’ve been inspired by the Olympics to start running then why not take part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2013 (EMF)?
The event will be held over two days on the Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2013 and although it may be a long way off from now this will give you a chance to get a head start with your training.
Located in one of the most beautiful cities in the UK the route will take you through a backdrop of the historic town to catch glimpses of Edinburgh Castle and continues along a stretch of the North Sea coast to give you a panoramic view of the horizon.
The Edinburgh Marathon Festival has a wide range of courses available so it will be suitable for everyone whether you are a new or experienced runner. Short distance runners can opt for the 5km and 10km course held on Saturday 25th. The events held on Sunday 26th are for those seeking a more strenuous challenge. You can have a choice between the EMF Half Marathon and (for the most gruelling challenge) the Edinburgh Marathon. Alternatively if a solo run is not for you then the EMF Team Relay event is perfect if you want to take part with friends, relatives and colleagues.
Running a marathon as an individual or as part of a team is a wonderful achievement in itself. But why not harness your determination – and increase your motivation in training and to get across the finish line – by supporting a deserving cause that urgently needs your help?
We are the only charity focused exclusively on building a solid research base to document interventions (treatments or therapies) for autism rather than its causes. We aim to be the trusted source that those affected so desperately need for information on effective and scientifically researched treatments.
We have the active support of many of the world’s leading figures in autism, but we need your help too.
When you join our Research Autism Team with either a guaranteed charity place or directly through the online entry system, we’ll provide you with:
